CATCH PER SEASON

NOTE: Marlin,Mahi mahi,Wahoo,Sailfish and small tuna are caught all year and Large Blue Marlin have been known to feed at any time of the year here.

WET SEASON: NOV-MARCH

Typical weather is very calm seas but we can receive rain storms that may last a day or two. Often the ocean is glass calm this time of year

FISHING: This time of year marks the arrival of massive schools of skipjack tunas (AKU) with them we see big yellowfin boiling and feeding amongst them. This is also the time of year we see Blue Marlin schooling and will get many shots a day catching multiple marlin a day. most fish are avg size fish 100-500lb Blue Marlin as well as juvenile black marlin and Sailfish.

In the end of JANUARY through to FEBRUARY we do see water temps rise and fishing can slow down. It is often an advantage to fish with baits in those months.

DRY SEASON: APRIL-OCTOBER

Typical weather is a bit more windy as it is the trade wind season and we can see days that get rough on the water but the days are often very sunny. If you get seasick it is best to be prepared for the occasional rough sea day especially in june-july. It is very rare for us to cancel a charter due to weather in Samoa.

FISHING: This time of year is when we can see LARGE Blue Marlin 200 - 1000+lbs, although big fish are caught year round we do seem to see bigger blues this time. It is also a good time of year to catch spearfish, Sailfish and Striped Marlin. This time of year Wahoo and Mahi Mahi (Dolphin fish) are very abundant.

NOTE: This is just a rough guide to fish per season, every year is often different due to currents and water temps and of course bait.
