August-September

September 29, 2017 by Captain Chris Donato

August fishing fishing in Kona started off with a 412 kilo black marlin weighed, there were also Marlin lost in August that were called real big ! Big August marlin did show up but the bites were spread out and fishing was hard because of inconsistent currents. September began to really take on a bit more consistency with fair to good fishing. The Yellowfin bite was average but most marlin boats started to see 2 to 3 aggressive blue bites a day. Bluewaters own Trish Simpson released a Blue in the 430 kilo range, confirming that Big Marlin are still here. November/ December will see a return of Striped Marlin, Mahi and smaller Blue marlin.
