This winter has produced some great fishing here in Kona; The Blue Marlin Bite perked up in November and continued right on through Dec, with large numbers of small Male Marlin being caught daily. The Stripe Marlin have arrived too, while not red hot they are a common catch. Winter Wahoo are here in numbers at the moment while the spearfish bite has been a little bit slow this winter.
With so many male Blue Marlin around all winter I am predicting there to be some very XXL Marlin showing up here in the March and April period to spawn with them. I believe we could have a really good season ahead of us.
